LOS ANGELES — Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) released the following statement about the ongoing Hurst, Palisades, and Eaton fires ravaging through Los Angeles County:
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the fire crews and first responders who have worked non-stop since the Hurst, Palisades, and Eaton fires broke out to keep our communities and our neighbors safe.Their bravery is keeping residents across the region safe, and I urge residents to follow any instructions from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), including evacuation orders.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) joined U.S. Senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff (both D-Calif.) and 47 bipartisan members of the California Congressional delegation in urging President Biden to grant Governor Gavin Newsom’s request for a major disaster declaration in response to the devastating ongoing impacts of the Palisades, Eaton, Franklin, and Hurst fires and the ongoing windstorm event in Los Angeles County.
