Congresswoman Luz Rivas Votes to Condemn Political Violence

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) released the following statement following the House of Representatives’ vote to condemn political violence:

“I condemn political violence in all its forms. Regardless of political beliefs, no one should be targeted for exercising their First Amendment rights in the Constitution. Just as I did earlier this year when Minnesota Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman and her husband were senselessly assassinated, I voted to condemn another act of political violence. The political conversation in our country should have never gotten to this point. As a country, we must come together to put an end to extremist rhetoric and address our differences with dialogue and compassion.”
